Eurostar Once Again Hurts its Reputation

It seems that Eurostar has just recently hurt its reputation, yet again. This time it was due to another train that broke down in Kent, with more than 700 people were on board.

The company said that the train, which was en route to London from Paris, has suffered a major technical problem. The incident itself happened earlier this week at around 10:45pm. Passengers had to wait almost an hour in complete darkness before being transferred to a replacement train.

To try and make things all better, Eurostar has offered each affected passenger £300 in compensation. A spokesman for the company said that it did not expect any delays to services later this week. He also confirmed that there was an investigation being launched to find out what caused the breakdown.

Bosses of Eurostar have already been left “red faced” at the end of last year when trains broke down in the Channel Tunnel after enduring a malfunction brought on by freezing temperatures. This event, of course, led to severe delays and cancellations for the company.

Meanwhile, Eurostar services between St Pancras and Brussels remain canceled after last week’s train crash near the Belgian capital caused more than 20 deaths. This is being called the worst train crash in almost 30 years. Although it seems impossible that two trains could collided head on in this day and age, this event shows how human error still results in crashes.

If passengers have any problems about the latest problem, the company suggests that they visit the Eurostar website to gather all of the latest information. However, the company says that most of the passengers that were affected by this event should have already been taken care of.
