Ryanair Passenger Eats €10,000 in Frustration
Tiffany PhillipsIt has just recently surfaced that an unnamed Ryanair passenger, who was flying from Krakow in Poland to the East Midlands Airport, won big money on a scratch card. The cabin crew on the flight confirmed that the man did indeed have a winning card.
However, the Ryanair passenger started to become upset when he learned that he had to collect the jackpot, which was €10,000, directly from the company that runs the competition due to the fact that they do not keep that kind of money on board planes. At this point the man started to become so frustrated that he ate his winning ticket while on the flight.
Due to this man’s rash action, he has now lost any hope of ever being able to claim the prize money. Thus, the money will now be donated to a charity on Ryanair’s behalf. A spokesman for Ryanair said that the cabin crew and some of the passengers had attempted to ask the man not to eat the ticket. However, he choose to stand up and do it anyway. Other passengers said that they would have been delighted to claim the large cash prize after returning home.
The spokesman went on to say that, for some reason, the man felt that they should have that money just sitting around the plane somewhere. The crew even tried to offer him a sandwich, pizza or other snack so that he would not eat his “gourmet scratch card.” However, it appears that the man has really expensive taste, the spokesman added. Now Ryanair passengers are being asked to vote online to determine where the money should go.
