HolidayClick Reports Surge in Holiday Packages

Helen Young

Just recently HolidayClick, which is a well known travel specialist in the UK, reported a huge surge of bookings for holiday packages. As it turns out, Turkey is the destination that received the highest number of bookings. This area has proven to be very popular among tourists who look for family or beach friendly holidays. However, Turkey has also proven to be a very hot spot for young couples in love.

So far, family bookings have gone up 34 percent from last year to this season. However, advance family bookings are not the only kind of bookings that are on the rise. Apparently a big surge in single travelers has been seen as well. Reports suggest that these numbers have grown by 42 percent year on year.

Even some of the lesser known resorts in Turkey, like Kas, Patara and Kalkan, have also seen a big boost in sales and bookings. This goes double for travelers who fall in the age range of 25 to 60.This proves, yet again, that Turkey is one of those areas that has a little bit of something for everyone.

However, when it comes to pre-bookings, apparently Christmas 2010 and New Year’s 2010-2011 have received a huge increase in bookings already. Popular hotels in Europe are already starting to book up fast, despite the fact that the year has just started.

Some places like the Canaries, however, have taken a massive dip in interest as far as alternative holiday vacations are concerned. The truth of the matter is that these areas are becoming a lot more mainstream, which is seen in the big rise of bookings that has increases by some 22 percent.
