Hilton Hotels has announced an upcoming brand of extended-stay properties, to be called Home2 Suites, which will be decorated for appealing the younger generation of business travelers. The rates are to average at $100 per night, which is even less than the average $122 per night from HomewoodSuites.

Construction from the 4-story properties of Home2 Suites will start later in the year. The hotels will have 108 guest rooms, with most of them being the size of a studio. Leisure travelers will also get to take of advantage of their low rates, which is expected to compete with Value Place’s prices, which is a budget extended-stay chain of hotels that has 137 properties, with rates starting at $169 per week.

The new Home2 Suites hotels are going to feature a common room for activities indoors, a grill and patio outdoors, and a swimming pool in order to encourage young business travelers to get together and mingle as if they were living in a dorm. The guest rooms will have modular furniture, which will appear to be reminiscent of Ikea. There won’t be any partitions between the living areas and the bedroom areas of the studios, and the bathrooms will only have shower stalls instead of bathtubs.

Hilton Hotels plans to open about 100 of these new hotels by the end of 2012, with most of them being built in the United States. The first cities to be built in include: New York City; Jacksonville, NC; Charlotte, NC; White March, MD; San Antonio, TX; Elko, NV; Alabaster, AL; and Gadsden, AL.
