Best Western International has altered their Loyalty Program, adding Southwest Airlines a their key partner. This means that the members of Best Western Rewards, the hotel’s loyalty program, will have the opportunity to earn rewards credits for Southwest Airlines, which will be redeemable for free flights to anywhere the carrier flies starting on February 15th.

The members of the program will have the option to earn half of a Southwest Rapid Rewards credit for every day that the stay at one of Best Western International’s more than 4,000 hotels across the globe. During the spring promotion of Best Western, which starts February 15th and ends April 5th, members of Best Western Rewards who register to earn credits for Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards will get to earn twice as much, which is one credit, when they stay for 2 nights during the period. In addition to earning the credit by staying at hotels, members will also have the choice of turning 5,000 of their Best Western Rewards points into a Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards credit.

Dorothy Dowling, the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Best Western International, said that whether customers choose to earn credits toward free nights or flights, they will be able to travel with confidence, knowing that Southwest Airlines and Best Western International are helping their budgets stretch further. The partnership is a major opportunity for both companies to serve their loyal travelers better, she continued, since they have hotels in all of the US cities where the airline flies.
