Children No Longer Safe from Full Body Scanners at UK Airports
Tiffany PhillipsIt now appears that children will no longer be able to forgo the full body scanners at UK airports. Thanks to a new proposal that was unveiled by the UK government, kids have now been added to the list of people that do have to go through these types of scanners. This new rule came despite protests from civil liberty groups that say that the resulting images would breach child pornography laws.
The transport secretary, Lord Adonis, said to exclude children would risk undermining the tightening of security in the first place. He said that they will be requiring all children, who are selected, to be screened using these full body scanners. Airport security staff have all been cleared to Government security vetting level. This gives these security guards the ability to check for criminal and security service records. These staff members have received comprehensive initial training and refresher training in aviation security and customer service.
Of course, there were some people that said that the scanned images of the children could have been ruled illegal under the 1978 Protection of Children Act. However, the code said that this would be outweighed by the necessity of preventing, detecting and investigating crimes.
The Department of Transport is aware that there are some individuals such as trans-genders, disabled, elderly or passengers with particular religious beliefs that have concerns about going through the scanner. However, the department does believe that its privacy controls are very adequate.
Any passengers that refuse to go through the new scanners have been and will continue to be refused boarding their plan. This is something that the UK government says it will not leave up to chance. People who refuse to go through the scanners do not get to board their plane.

And pray tell us Lord Adonis, how many children are likely to be carrying explosives or have bombs strapped to their bodies?
All is not what it appears to be.

I agree with Lesley that not everything is has it seems.
One great individual said, show me a politician and I will show you a liar. All though it is a blanket statement and cannot be applied to all the truth is the truth.
The people will be sheeple and the government will continue to lie, for how do sheeple know what is good for them accept what they are told is good.
The infrigement of rights will continue to be eroded until the people have no rights and then it will be too late. A police state is not something that is evolving, it is already there!
1984 is the reality of what most people are living in today. Yet those who subscribe to this type of thought are subversive detractors.
Security is of secondary importance to the need to pyschologically prepare people to accept whatever the government suggest is good for them. In time the people will have no conscious free will to decide on anything themselves except that they have been told what they can and cannot do, what is good and what is not good.
