Train operator to cut off peak travel period

A subsidiary of one of the UK’s biggest train operators has announced it is reducing off-peak travel periods on some routes. The move by CrossCountry Trains on its services operating between southwest England and Scotland will see the price of some tickets double.

A series of rare travel books, including one which was the property of Captain Cook, has generated more than £300,000 at an auction in Edinburgh.
