Casa Escondida (the "hidden house") is a secluded and serene bed & breakfast that is nestled on six acres in the awe-inspiring mountains of northern New Mexico. You will find us in the historic village of Chimayo (only 35 minutes north of Santa Fe), just off of the "high road to Taos," one of the most magnificent drives that you will ever experience. We are centrally located for many splendid daytrips & ski outings throughout all of northern New Mexico!We have 8 intimate and comfortable guest rooms (all with private baths) that are filled with handpicked antiques and accented in a rustic southwest style. Some rooms offer amenities such as an antique wood stove, private patios, fireplaces, private decks or oversized bathtubs. A full, hot breakfast is included each morning and is served in our breakfast room where the morning sun filters through the many surrounding French doors. You can look forward to completing your day with a relaxing soak in our outdoor hot tub. The bed & breakfast was built in the "Spanish colonial adobe style" of architecture that is typical of northern New Mexico. Architectural elements, such as kiva fireplaces, wooden tongue & groove ceilings, saltillo tile floors and wooden vigas, all add to the warmth and rustic charm of Casa Escondida. The village of Chimayo provides our guests with a truly authentic northern New Mexico experience. We invite you to visit our famous church (the Santuario de Chimayo) that is known for its miraculous healings. In addition, our local weaving shops are internationally known for their fine work.
