Stannally Farm Cottage is located one mile from the centre of Todmorden and is nestled on one of the south-facing and quiet hillsides which surround the town. The cottage is a 17th Century stone-built building attached to the main farmhouse. In front, it has a York stone-flagged patio and at the side a herb garden with a rustic garden seat where guests can sit and enjoy the scenery. Below this is a lawned area, with a well-stocked herbaceous border and a seat where one can enjoy the evening light. Guests are always assured of a warm welcome and the full facilities detailed in this brochure are at their disoposal. We do not, however, permit smoking inside the cottage and we can only accept guests' pets with prior arrangement. The cottage is entered through its porch double doors into the lounge and dining area, which has a comfortable olde worlde charm with a gas log fire, wainscot panelling and beamed ceiling. There is a TV and video player in the lounge with a well-stocked library of videotapes and a wide variety of interesting books to read and games to play. There is a portable radio with tape and CD facilities The bedrooms are reached via an open staircase featuring 17th Century reproduction ironwork. On the first floor is the double bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom is furnished in antique pine and has a beamed ceiling and its own remote control TV. On the second floor is a twin-bedded room also with a beamed ceiling, featuring a small lounge area with a wall of 'weavers' windows looking out over the rear and side of the property onto the wooded backdrop. Each bedroom is equipped with its own clock radio. Should guests require a cot for a younger child, this can be arranged if we are notified in advance, at the time of booking. On the ground floor there is also a modern, well-appointed kitchen complete with a gas hob, electric oven, a microwave and other electrical appliances. The kitchen is fitted throughout and has an Austrian blind to the window and the floor is carpeted in 'Flotex' tiles. A co-ordinated range of crockery to suit all needs is provided together with a wide range of cooking dishes and utensils suitable for the competent cook. An iron and ironing board is also located in the kitchen The bathroom is situated on the first floor. It is equipped with bath and electric shower combined, wash basin and toilet. The washing machine/tumble drier is situated in the bathroom where there is also ample drying space. The bathroom is also covered in 'Flotex' carpet tiles.
