The "Wendy House" is an independent bedroom with en suite shower room in the pretty garden of our house overlooking the Rhone Valley 10 km outside Avignon. We are perfectly situated for the summer festivals in Avignon and Orange. Aix en Provence is about 50 mins away by autoroute (nearest acces at Orange or Avignon about 15 minutes away)We provide a perfect base for exploring the Alpilles, the Camargue etc. You can visit our website at www.unchatausoleil.com or contact us on +611473733 (the answering phone message is in french but go ahead and leave your message) There is a limited rural bus service from Avignon to Sauveterre and out house is about 1km up the hill from the bus stop so it is advisable to have a car to reach us, but we can offer a pick up service to and from AVIGNON from 9.30am to 9 pm NEW FOR 2005 we can propose tourist circuits according to your specific interests

About Weather/Climate/Temperature

Everyone knows that the sun shines in Provence! But remember that the the Mistral is a north wind that blows all the year round if the conditions are right. This leans that in the summer it is refreshing when the temperatures hit the 30°C and more, but in winter months it can be bitterly cold.

About Transport

I know this sounds obvious but we are in a village. This means that you need a car to get to and from our house. If you are coming by train there is car-hire at Avignon's 2 stations (TGV or Avignon centre).

About Golfing

Good! 2 excellent courses at Avignon, Chateaublanc is a little less snooty than Vedene and an excellent course (even the 9-hole is good). Port-Royal (excellent course)is about 1hr30 away. Saumane is about 45 minutes. Good golfing at Les Baux (45mins)

About Local Restaurants

Good simple restaurant in the village. Villeneuve Les Avignon (5 mins) has plenty of good restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets. Avignon is full of good restaurants. We have favourites and will be happy to tell you about them
