Zachary Taylor State Park (I have a beach pass for your family)and two blocks from the famed Duval Street with its wonderful restaurants (e.g. Mangoes), unique shops (e.g. Fast Buck Freddies), interesting art galleries, famous bars (e.g. Sloppy Joe's) and not your mother's night clubs (e.g. 801 Bourbon). The Truman Annex was the former Naval Base when President Harry Truman made it his summer vacation home. The lush foliage with swaying palm trees and beautiful homes are worth an exploratory walk or two.
