Set in the centre of the historic village of Malemort du Comtat, Les Remparts is a charming 17c house built into the old ramparts, with a medieval sentry box in one of its walls. It is beautifully restored, retaining original features such as terracotta floor tiles and exposed beams, and is constructed over a vaulted medieval cellar. The upper windows look out over the village walls and across the countryside to the Dentelles de Montmirail. The walled garden has stone steps leading up to a sunny terrace built over what used to be the village dungeon. Garden furniture and BBQ are provided. The house is tastefully decorated and has a fitted kitchen, a dining room, two sitting rooms, a double and a twin bedroom, and two bathrooms, one of which is 'en suite' in the double bedroom. There is a TV, VCR and CD player. The village has the usual shops: general store, butcher, bakers, cafe/bars, garage, post office, hairdresser, etc; and is a short drive from the towns of Carpentras and Pernes Les Fontaines.
