The Mas de L'Elze is a rambling collection of old stone buildings, clinging to a sun-drenched, south facing slope on the edge of the Ardechois Cevennes. In the past, these buildings served a multitude of purposes typical of the local countryside: a silk-worm loft, a drying and smoking area for chestnuts, a barn for storing hay and raising geese and ducks for the "gavage". Now, they have been painstakingly and lovingly transformed into a set of completely independent luxury houses, from which you can fully appreciate the beauty and tranquility of the surrounding countryside. The 3 gites share a large pool (15x5m), a jacuzzi and a gym. La Clede is the second of our small houses providing comfortable accommodation for 2/4 people. It has a floor area of approximately 55m2. It was originally used to dry chestnuts; a fire was lit on the ground floor which heated the chestnuts on the floor above. Now, the sleeping area is found on this floor, with a lounge/diner, open-plan kitchen and shower room underneath. Outside, there is a sheltered, south-facing private terrasse under one of the chestnut trees that supplied La Clede with its raw material.
