The Lake Cottage is a vintage Maine camp on a small remote pond about a half hour drive from Bethel Maine. It has a very private location. There is a large grassy area surrounding the cottage and it sits about 20 feet from the waters edge. Our camp consists of a kitchen, with all pots, pans and service, a large living-dining area, a bedroom with queen bed, a bunk room, and a loft bedroom with three twin beds. There is a sitting and additional dining area on the front porch overlooking the lake. In the back yard is a grove of towering pine trees, a brook that babbles when it rains, a storage shed, outhouse and a barbeque grill. In the front yard you will find a relaxing double hammock, Adirondack chairs, a small waterside deck, a stone camp fire, and a dock with a small motor boat and canoe for your use. The Cottage faces south for great sun, there is almost always a summer breeze and the swimming area is sandy and starts out shallow, ideal for younger children. The Lake Cottage is a special retreat that has no electricity and private serene surroundings. The cottage is equipped with cold running water, a gas refrigerator, gas stove, gas heater, gas lights and a telephone. It is a comfortable living arrangement away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We have many repeat guests and several that return every year. The pond has resident moose, ducks, eagles and loons.
