In the continuty of the garden you have access to 2 ha land with prairie, trees and a fishing pond. Bed linen and towels are changed twice a week. We provide free of charge all cleaning products for dish washer, washing machine and general cleaning. The swimming pool is open from 8:30 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. and is cleaned daily. Swimming pool. In the continuty of the garden access to 3ha land ( about 7 acres) with prairie, trees and a fish pond in the lovely region of the Vendée in France. In La Caíllère you will find all the ammenities you need. We have a nice church there (from the 11th Century), also Doctor, dentist, pharmacy, gasoline station, tobacco, grocery shop, bakery, restaurant , a tennis court, etc...a drill of chestnuts with 5 pedestrian paths (4, 6, 8 and 14 km long walks). My hamlett "La Riviere Morin" is 1.4 km far away from La Caillere. 900 m from here you can practise horse riding at "Pescalis" or at Saint-Hilaire du Bois (3 Km). Also the Communal rural road passing at our house is the way used for the “Pélerinage of St Jacques de Compostelle”. On our property you can fish in our pond (40 m x 45 m), or in ponds or lakes here around. Many villages all around have summer fetes where you’ll enjoy at least twice a week to stay and see fireworks, local customs festivities, exhibitions, dance, dinner … etc… ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Le Marais Poitevin: The swamp of Poitou covers 15,000 hectares with 40,000 km of channels and is covered by a canal system. You cantake a boat tour from Damvix, Maillé, Maillezais, Le Mazeau and Saint-Sigismond. Take some time to visit the Abbey of Maillezais which was built in 1003 on a island of "le golfe des pictons " . The building remains a gothic wonder. Puy du Fou: This theme park recreates an 18th century village, with falconry displays and all kinds of night shows on offer. Many of the 8 900 actors are local people coming from neighbours villages. Pescalis: You can fish in our pond or lakes here around, or at at sea side as well as at PESCALIS. Several lakes on 150 hectares near MONCOUTANT (department of the « DEUX-SÈVRES) at 38 Km from our place. Different ponds and lakes and different fishes per lakes. La Vallee des Singes: Primate Protection Reserve: (www.la-vallee-des-singes.fr/UK/index.html ) 30 species to be discovered at Monkey Valley with shady paths, brooks and waterfalls invite you to explore the calm beauty of its natural countryside. A new sight appears at each turn in the path. Use all of your senses and you will be transported into the fascinating universe of the primates. The Futuroscope in Poitiers: A unique experience with the Kinemax. Also you can watch films on giant wall and foot sreens ( 3-D projections through a transparent glass floor). which extends on 720 m² big wall screen. La Rochelle: A lovely town with a port and fortifications, La Rochelle has interesting history and a nice atmosphere. The marina is one of the largest aquariums in Europe. The fish market and port are worth visiting, with attractive, peaceful and waterside cafes and restaurants offer relaxing breaks and nice seafood platters. Ile de Re can be reached from here. Nantes: The capital of the region is near the sea with a small port. Here you can find an interesting museum about Jules Verne, a very nice planetarium, museum and theatre. Sea side: Very nice, clean and gold sandy beaches are in « La Tranche sur Mer » (45 Km from here) and « La Faute sur Mer », “l’Aiguillon sur Mer” (40 Km from here) where you also have a Casino. Of course in other places you’ll find nice beaches as in “La Rochelle”, “Les Sables d’Olonne” , “Olonne-sur-Mer” and “Saint-Jean de Monts” Golf: A 18-hole Golf course is at Nesmy ( 39 Km away from La Caillere Saint-Hilaire). But there are also other Golf courses next to the sea side. All of them are very nice and will fulfill Golf player expectations. For information 2 golf courses are near “SAINT JEAN de MONTS” and “SAINT GILLES CROIX DE VIE”.
