Our holiday home is a bright centrally located one-bedroom apartment on the top (fourth) floor of an architecturally significant building with stunning views. Situated off the Royal Mile in the centre of Scotland's beautiful capital city, the apartment is within easy walking distance of the major tourist attractions, Festival venues, shops, nightlife and transport connections. The apartment sleeps two people and can comfortably sleep another two guests on request on a sofa bed in the living room. All linen and towels are included in the price and for lets of more than one week these are replaced. The top-floor apartment is bathed in light and has extensive views over the city rooftops. The accommodation comprises a living room with dining area, a kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. Unique to this building is the shared roof terrace, which is accessed from the top of the entrance stairway and which has spectacular panoramic views over the city, sea and hills. Where better to enjoy a relaxing drink after a hard day's sightseeing? With windows on two sides, the spacious living room offers attractive views of the Old Town and Calton Hill. There is a coal-effect gas fire and a comfortable dining area for those occasions when you forego the attractions of Edinburgh's exciting restaurant scene. The modern kitchen is well provided with crockery, cutlery, glasses and kitchenware, as well as a washing machine, fridge and cooker. There are drying facilities in case you get caught out in the rain. The spacious double bedroom is fully carpeted and attractively furnished. The comfortable bathroom is wood panelled and has a wash-hand basin and bath with shower over. The apartment has gas central heating. The price of gas and electricity is included. For the comfort of future guests, the apartment is non-smoking. Because the building dates from the 19th century, there is no lift and thus no wheelchair access.
