At web site: www.lacperdu.com you'll find an array of photos and additional information. The main camp is located in the northern wilderness at 70 ° 13' W, 50 ° 39' N, with two satellite camps on a plateau at a higher elevation. There are six cabins on Lac Perdu (the BIG Lake). It takes well over two days to see it all by motorboat. In addition over 100 additional lakes are on the property, all accessible by hiking, canoeing and portage, etc. The fishing on the lakes is excellent for catching northern pike and lake trout. We are the perfect location for the Eco Adventure Wilderness traveler. The choice is yours: Spend your next vacation at a corporate mega-resort or come to family oriented Lac Perdu where Peace and quiet are the first things you'll notice once the float plane flies off into the horizon. The only sounds you will hear are the loons singing in the evening and the wolves calling at night amongst the Northern Lights for a backdrop. The lakes are surrounded by wilderness. The peak at the Northern end of Lake Perdu has never been climbed, there are rivers that have never been canoed, lakes that have never been fished, and all the forest has not yet been explored. Below is a comment written by a previous guest. "The big sell (in my opinion) is that fishermen from this area can make the drive to your float base in a single day. Your rates are reasonable and the opportunity to catch FOUR species (lake trout, pike, brookies and whitefish) is appealing. In fact, I caught those four species in that order on FOUR CONSECUTIVE CASTS when we fished the Outflow River of Lac Perdu on our last day there. It was remarkable!" Tim O'Brian Lakes Caroline & Trois lles the two satellite camps make up an unbelievable brook trout fishery; you can fish streams, grassy flats and the lakes. All are loaded with trout that will see their first fly when you present it to them. With only one cabin on the entire lake, you can view it as your own private lake. You can fly into Perdu for a few days, then transfer on up to the Brook trout country at an additional cost of $250 per person for the transfer flight. This gives you a taste of both worlds. Or, you can fly directly to the Brook trout area and spend your entire time there. The brook trout are plentiful and eager to attack your flies. They are very lightly fished, definitely not hook shy. The colors are fluorescent due to the high tannin content of the cold Northern water. Both the Caroline & Trois Iles systems have miles of streams; if you hike a few miles I can guarantee that you will be the first person ever to fish those waters. Most people won't make the hike because they don't need to; the fishing is too good everywhere. A free night's accommodations are offered at Lake Margane, the floatplane base. This allows you an early flight to our camp in the morning & awards you with a full day of fishing. After viewing the web site, if you desire more information, I'll be happy to mail you a CD-ROM. I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully meeting you at Lac Perdu this summer. Karen Booking office: 570 655 4585 ext. 1009
