The Villa The villa is on the south side of the Monchique mountains, 1000 ft below the top. The house is in a secluded yet open position in its own delightful grounds, with amazing views to the coast. On the first floor there is a large open-plan dining/sitting room, kitchen and two bedrooms both with their own bath and shower. The double bedroom has a king-size bed ensuite facilities and the twin bedroom has its own bathroom. The living room and bedrooms lead on to a totally private partly shaded balcony, ideal for eating out, relaxing and enjoying a glass of wine and the beautiful view. The sitting room has a wood burning stove, a TV and DVD player and a large selection of books, games and local guides. However there are not many films, so bring your favourites if you want to watch them. The kitchen is well equipped with a modern calor gas cooker, large fridge/freezer, microwave oven, coffee maker, blender, toaster and has everythimg you need. On the ground floor are a twin and a single bedroom, each with a bathroom or shower room. The house sleeps a maximum of 7. Equipment The house is equipped to a good standard. The kitchen has a good size calor gas cooker, a microwave and a large fridge/freezer. There is a washing machine for your use. Cooking and water heating is by calor gas. The gas installation is outside the house and the property has been certified in accordance with Portuguese government regulations. The charges for cooking and water heating are included in the rent. For the cooler month we have a wooden stove and electric heaters. The telephone has a meter. Swimming Pool The swimming pool (approximately 12m x 5m x 2m in the deep end and 1.3m in the shallow end) has wide steps at the shallow end for small children to play on. It is below the house with steps though the garden. We have gates to prevent children going there on their own. We ask our visitors to bring their own swimming towels. Garden The property extends to nearly 3/4 hectare. The area round the house and pool is terraced and cultivated with a variery of unusual flowers and flowering shrubs, there are several lemon trees, orange and chestnut trees. Help We have a part-time gardener/handyman who lives close by. He looks after the garden and mantains the swimming pool. A very good maid comes three afternoons a week. She cleans the house, washes the linen and generally tidies up. Heating and Telephone In addition to the wood burning stove in the main living room three are electric heaters. Logs are chargable. The telephone is there for your use and has a meter.
