Throughout this magical location, there are many hiking trails that lead you to scenic picnic spots along meandoring streams to a waterfall, or along clifftops with stunning views across the Tasman Sea. Swimming is popular in the summer months of January to March. Fishing expeditions can be arranged. The Waitakere Ranges is a popular location for weddings.
