In Jimera de Libar - set in a wide valley with mountains around - a small terraced townhouse - 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with full bath and shower over - sleeps 4 - four years old in a very pretty spot south-west of Ronda, a few steps from a railway station. The little horseshoe of houses is virtually next to the River Guadiaro. The village - Jimera de Libar -is in a valley surrounded by a nature reserve and is a great favourite with birdwatchers. Numerous walkers and birdwatdhers' websites mention how excellent the restaurant near the station is - it is a few steps from our door. There is a really bustling bar/restaurant five minutes walk away where live music is a feature most weekends, not audible from the house(!) Inside - tiled floors throughout. The living room has dining table, two sofas and an armchair, TY and DVD player, Hi-Fi and open fireplace as well as AC/Heater unit; beyond there is a separate fully fitted kitchen. The back door opens from here on to the tiny rear patio - just room for the four chairs and small table. Upstairs are two bedrooms – one double, one twin. Bed linen is provided. The outdoor space is just the tiny patio at the rear. There is also the communal lawn outside front door. The railway line is the Andalucia Express and goes from Algeciras to Ronda. There are three trains each way per day. Ronda is a 32 minute ride and the price is 2 Euros! It is well-known, having been built by a Mr. Henderson in the 1920s for the benefit of British officers stationed at Algeciras. You can continue on to Granada - 12.95€ each way, and just over three hours from Jimera de Libar.
