Sutherland is one of Scotlands best kept secrets and really has to be experienced at first hand. It is pleasure to drive in this part of the world with hardly any traffic Also a place where it is easy to just go for a walk. Sutherland has less restriction on walkers. A less fenced-in areas making it easy to roam. Lower lying hills making access to the hills not so trying. Plenty of places to park and just go for a stroll. Passing places are well placed at every quarter mile or so. The scenery on these roads is breathtaking so makes for an enjoyable adventure exploring the Scottish Highlands. There is little traffic on these roads but if someone is following you do be courteous and let them pass at the next passing place. It is also the law on single track roads, you never know it could be a Doctor or nurse on call.
