Built in 1902, Greystones were the officers cottages for the Victorian Garrison. This cottage (Greystones One) accommodates up to six people in two bedrooms. One has a 4ft6in double bed, the other has three bunks. The large sitting room / dining room has two single sofa beds. The cottage is fully carpeted and tastefully decorated and furnished.
A separate well-equipped kitchen is all-electric and has cooker, toaster, microwave, kettle, fridge, automatic washing machine, and tumble drier. The newly refurbished (winter 2003) bathroom is fully tiled and has a bath, hand basin, and lavatory. The lounge has an open fire place, with a back boiler, for use during the winter months (coal can be ordered in advance). A television and video player are provided. There is also an iron and ironing board and a vacuum cleaner.
