Mill Cottage is a traditional Cornish cottage built of granite and cob under a slate roof. There is an off road parking space for two cars with a small raised garden to the rear. It was originally built for the mill workers during the nineteenth century. We have been reliably informed by the chief planning officer that our quiet little lane was the main road from Bodmin to Truro (during the 14th century!). The cottage has been completely refurbished and redecorated and offers cosy accommodation for up to four adults. There are two bedrooms. The larger bedroom has twin divan beds whilst the smaller has a double. Heating in the lounge is by a gas fired room heater, the rest of the cottage is heated by wall hung electric heaters. The cottage makes an ideal base from which to explore Cornwall.The main A30 is just 2 miles away and you can be on either coast, North or South in about half an hour. The Eden project is six miles away - with the lost gardens of Heligan another ten miles further on. Lanhydrock house,the most visited National Trust country house in England is about three miles from us. Padstow is about twenty five minutes in the other direction by car, whilst cyclists can access the camel trail at Boscarne which is less than two miles away. From there you can cycle all the way to Padstow on the flat via Wadebridge, or walk just one mile to the award winning Camel Valley Vineyard on foot. We are particularly proud of our water, which comes from our own private well. It is very soft,and makes a great cuppa - so please feel free to bring as large a container as you can carry away at the end of your stay. Making great tea at home will bring back pleasant memories of your Cornish holiday. Bed linen, towels (but not beach towels)and all energy costs - gas and electricity are included in the rental, there are no meters to feed.
