The retreat is nestled in Port Macquarie's spectacular Hinterland, approximately 400 kilometres north of Sydney on the NSW Mid North Coast. Accommodation consists of three spacious, well appointed and fully self-contained one-bedroom cottages, positioned along a ridge overlooking the forest. Combined with large windows and skylights, cathedral ceilings and the extensive use of natural timbers and earthy colours, the feeling is one of spaciousness and being part of the natural environment. During the warmer months the cottages enjoy cool easterly breezes and the shade of surrounding eucalypts, and during the cooler months gas heaters and electric blankets ensure that guests stay warm and cosy. The hosts can also provide a breakfast hamper in the cottage and a candlelit dinner in the unique Wood carvers Chalet on request. Barbeque facilities are also available. Toms Creek Retreat offers wonderful scenery, over 50 species of birds, wallabies, echidnas and other wildlife, 160 acres of eucalypt and rainforest and over 8 kilometres of walking tracks. There is also a huge waterhole in the Ellenborough River with natural spa and resident platypus. We can offer our overseas visitors a very special Aussie experience with wallabies, possums, and beautiful king parrots frequent visitors right outside our cottages and a resident platypus in the river.
