This unique home was originally designed as a doctor's dream retirement retreat. It sits on a very private 3-acre site with over 900 feet of river frontage. The rear wall of the home, which has a river and mountain view, is all windows - 16 feet high and 60 feet wide! The living room, dining room, and master bedroom all have this wonderful view, as does the hot tub on the deck. There are no nearby neighboring homes to either side or the rear of the home, which gives a nice feeling of seclusion. Inside, the furnishings are all first-class and include a home theatre surround-sound system, extremely comfortable beds, a large game room with a slate-bed pool table and other games, exercise equipment, extra-thick towels, every possible kitchen tool, and a wood-pellet stove with visible flames. A daily newspaper is left on the front porch every morning. There are two bedroom suites, each with their own full bathrooms. The master suite has a king-size bed, the other suite has a queen-size bed and twin bunk beds. It is an ideal setup for couples or for a family vacation. The Little Deschutes River is a very popular recreational river filled with Brown and Rainbow Trout, some up to 24 inches long. If one sits quietly on the rear deck, all sorts of wildlife can be seen along the river - otters, beaver, jumping trout, herons, hawks and eagles, plus a wide assortment of smaller birds. A bird ID book and binoculars are provided. During the summer months, the river has many rafts and canoes on it. We provide rubber rafts and will help arrange 1-2 hour float trips that end up back at the home's backyard. This is very popular with children and adults alike! Small house-type pets are allowed, but please discuss in advance. Smoking is not allowed inside the home.
