La Chassagne is an old farmstead located in the rural tip of the Auvergne, France. Dutch couple Jan Schuit and Marijke Schuit-Frowijn have created on their rural estate a quiet, small camping site along with a few holiday cottages. The holiday cottages of La Chassagne are housed in the ancient buildings of the farmstead. The buildings border on a sheep meadow, the vegetable garden, and a forest full of birds. Because La Chassagne is situated on a hilltop, the cottages look out over a hedged landscape - valleys fringed with wooden banks. La Maison du Berger - the Shepherd's House - is a cosy two-person holiday cottage which overlooks a green meadow. From the patio, you walk along an old stonewalled barn and a sheep meadow, right into the forest. On the other side, Maison du Berger borders on the 'cour', the courtyard, of the old farmstead.
