Sit back and relax whilst we take you on a virtual journey to Villa Hanorah and to Dikili a charming fishing Town situated in the"The Pearl of Aegean". The region has so much to offer, miles of sandy beaches, hidden coves, and numerous sites of historical interest. Set amid Mountains, olive groves, and cotton fields it is recommended by the Lonely planet author Tom Brosnahan as the ideal place to get away from the maddening crowd. Imagine yourself in luxury accommodation, which is spacious and bright and furnished with your high standards in mind. A typical morning starts with an organic breakfast on the ground terrace which overlooks our garden and field where a cow gently grazes. After breakfast you take a walk to the sandy beach a stones throw away. You find it un crowded and take a swim in the glass clear sea lapping gently against the shore. Later you take shelter under a straw umbrella and feel more relaxed and at peace than you have done in years. Still not convinced read just a snippet of our 100 % positive feedback. Then it's time you came to Villa Hanorah in unspoilt Dikili - it's Turkey's best-kept secret." Dear Sharon and Gokhan we would like to express our real thanks for the wonderful holiday we had at Villa Hanorah, it is a real gem. Spacious, well presented and full of modern equipment, it lacks nothing". "We have stayed in numerous villas in America as well as all over Europe and i must say all that all the hard work you have put into yours as well as organizing the trips and the use of the Mysia hotels facilities makes your villa the best organized we have stayed"."It was one of the best holidays we have ever had and we would recommend it to anyone"! "This resort is ideal for anyone looking for a quiet holiday destination with good facilities available. We intend to return". "The neighbours were so welcoming and friendly showering us with all sorts of help and Turkish food to eat. The town of Dikili is delightful, it is a real find, unspoilt by foreign visitors, it is a resort where the Turkish people are friendly helpful and hassle free". "The beaches at Dikili, Bademli and Candarli were all beautiful with soft sand and clear water". "We found Dikili laid back, uncomplicated, tranquil, with friendly people and good facilities. It?s beautiful beaches and bountiful history is breathtaking. Dikili and the surrounding areas have everything from an abundance of restaurants to archaeological remains, plus superb shopping, eating and drinking options, there?s is something to suit everyone". The drive into Dikili from Izmir (once out of the city) offers some spectacular scenery. For the most of the journey it is a straight road. Although the transfer is 2 hours I believe this is start of the holiday so try to book in daylight hours. The scenery consists of mountains, olive groves, vineyards and cotton fields. Dikili is a seaside fishing town that is made up of mainly holiday villas and a few hotels. The charming centre with cobbled streets has restaurants, bars and shops. Facilities Overview Although Dikili is a quite a small resort it has excellent facilities. There are good transports links both internally and to the surrounding sites of interest at very reasonable prices. In peak season there are 4 buses per hour allowing the locals to travel in and out of the town centre for approx 30p a trip. From the centre you can get frequent dolmuses to Candarli, Avyalik, Bergama and Bademli and other areas of interest. There are numerous restaurants throughout Dikili with the majority in the town centre. These vary from Turkish fast food which can include Pides (Turkish Pizzas) or Cafes with a variety of hot food with prices under a £1 for a meal. A step up is a visit to a Pide/Kebab Salonu which although look quite basic on the outside serves high quality food including mezes, salads, Pides, Kebabs, mixed grills, and fish dishes. A meal in this type of establishment will normally cost in the region of £3 per person. Near the harbour you will find the restaurants that specialise in fish. All produce served here will have been caught by the local fishermen that day. Meals here are normally more expensive at about £5-7 a head but again the quality is excellent and this would include mezes, a salad and bread. Dikili has a weekly organic market on Tuesdays where farmers from the surrounding areas sell their produce. There is also a Tansas supermarket near the villa which sells all goods you would expect to find in a European supermarket including Pampers nappies, Nescafe, Cornflakes, Shampoos, and everything else you can think of with the exception of pork products. You can also purchase fresh fish daily from the harbour which can be cooked on our brick built BBQ should you fancy a meal at home which served with a salad and the legendary Turkish bread makes a very satisfying meal in itself. There is a shop at the end of our road where you can buy basic produce such as water, bread, butter and fruit. For those of you who enjoy an Ephes larger you will be pleased to learn it is very well stocked in that department as well. A doctor service is available from the Mysia Hotel and there are several pharmacies in Dikili Town centre should this become necessary during your trip. All in all Dikili offers all the services you would expect to find in a more commercial resort but retains a charm that few can match. Nightlife In the summer months the Turkish professional classes, or those that can afford a holiday home arrive from cities such as Izmir and Istanbul to enjoy their yearly holiday. The main activities revolve around the harbour in the evenings where Dikili lazily comes to life. People eat drink and relax by having a fish supper and watching the stunning sunset. There is a small bazar where you can purchase local crafts and sometimes traditional music is arranged on the beach. The feel is very provincial and relaxing and catered firmly towards families and couples with a lack of noisy bars and discos thankfully. Children are welcomed with open arms in all establishments. 2 Blue Flag Beaches - The beach is 6km long and consists of a mid colour fine sand. Two beaches in Dikili hold blue flag certification and the sea is very clean and crystal clear. 1. Belediye Halk Plaj (public beach) 2. Kyra Beach The areas near the hotel and the centre offer the most in terms of services (ie refreshments umbrellas sun beds etc). However many areas remain in there natural state, including the beach near the villa. So depending upon what you like there is something for everyone in Dikili. The Mysia hotel - The Mysia hotel holds 4 stars and is near Villa Hanorah. It has been established that you can use their facilities including use of the large beachside pool and children's pool. Please note however that you should not bring any of your own food or drinks onto their premises and you will be expected to purchase drinks and food from time to time. The beachside pool area is stunning and children especially will enjoy the facilities on offer. This holiday would suit the more independent traveler who has moved on from the package holiday but would still appreciate a luxurious base. It would also suit families with children who may also find using the hotel Mysia's facilities the most useful. We would also recommend that a car be hired to make the most of the holiday. A personal chauffeur can be arranged including airport transfers for up to 4 people for a cost £30 per day trip. This holiday would not suit people where nightlife is the prime concern. www.villahanorah.co.uk
