THE SETT sleeps 4-7. Our woodland is home to many badgers – hence the name for this delightful retreat. The Sett retains many features of the barn, but is now an extremely comfortable place to stay! A large well-appointed barn cottage with two bedrooms, one double(13’x11’) & one twin (19’x11’,can be a triple). Bathroom with bath/shower & WC. The spacious (22’x21’) split-level living/dining area has a further double bed if required. The open-plan kitchen is well-equipped, with dishwasher, microwave etc, and there is a laundry room. Garden with patio & picnic table. The Sett is set in a stunning location, with magnificent views of Helvellyn and Blencathra. Our grounds include gardens, meadow & woodland – home to deer, owls, buzzards, red squirrels & badgers. We’re in the heart of the Lake District, only about 2 miles from Keswick, or a 10 minute drive from Grasmere. The magical ancient stone circle at Castlerigg is about 1.5 miles away You can walk the surrounding valleys & fells from the door, or use Brackenrigg as the perfect base from which to explore Lakeland. We can help you to get the most out of your trip to the Lakes, by recommending suitable walks, putting you in touch with climbing instructors, sailing schools & pony stables....or just suggesting good picnic spots – and, of course, restaurants & inns.
