Casa Caterina is a traditional stone cottage situated on a working farm near the village of Pievescola in Siena. The cottage is self contained and makes up a number of buildings on this working farm called 'Podere Casanova'. Four generations of the same Italian family live on the farm. The cottage has one double and one single bedroom with a nice modern bathroom. There is a large living room which leads into the kitchen area. The inside of the cottage boasts exposed oak beams, terracotta floors, wooden shutters and a wood burning open fire. There is a plentiful supply of wood from the private chestnut woods which adjoin the farm. Consider visiting Pievescola in the autumn as it is famous for wild mushrooms. Visiting at this time of year you will also witness the grape and olive harvesting. For the warmer months there is an outside seating area where you have a beautiful view of the Tuscan hills.
