Nestled amongst the rainforest trees in far north Queensland on the fringes of a busy tourist town Port Douglas, this TreeHouse puts Tarzan's hut to shame. Penelope is the host here and she welcome's you on arrival to get you acquainted with the TreeHouse. Built in 2006 this unique two bedroom home has one queen bed and two large single beds, a port a cot is available as is a high chair. 2 double seated couches, large flat screen TV & DVD player and an Ipod docking station comfortably sits in the Lounge room shared with a kitchen that overlooks a tree plantation. Kitchen appliances include 2 electric woks, microwave, large fridge, toaster, kettle & plunger. A large deck with 6 seater dining table and hooded BBQ over looks the flowing creek. This e co friendly house has extensive lush gardens inhabited by many butterfly's and long list of native birds, reptiles & mammals. You will definitely be lucky enough to spot the first two, but are you quick enough to spot last? The awesome shower room and separate loo also have rainforest views as do the two bedrooms that both have built in wardrobes, deep draws and mirrors. Many a window does the TreeHouse have for fresh air and mountain breezes, soak up the morning sun on the front steps on our chilly winter mornings while retreating to the shade of the back deck in the warmers afternoons. In the cane cutting season July- September you will be sure to see the busy cane trains and harvesters hard at work with the rail way tracks on our street. Its an astounding location with dramatic scenery changes throughout the Mossman rangers. Take walks to a fresh water swimming hole or the historic 'Bump Track" for those of you whom like to hike is a 15 minute drive into the Mowbray hills. Day trips by car are easily accessible from the TreeHouse to: Mossman Gorge under 10 minutes. Daintree National Park/ Cape Tribulation 1.5 hours. Great Barrier Reef 15 minutes. The Seaside village of Port Douglas is 15 minutes drive, with a beautiful beach, outstanding restaurants and variety of shops. More than 100 tours depart daily from Port Douglas ranging from luxury cruises to personal experiences diving, river snorkelling, fishing & 4WD adventure treks. Fresh local produce, cakes & jams on offer at the Mossman Markets on Saturday mornings, hand crafted locally made gifts & products for sale also at the Sunday Markets in Port Douglas. Guests at TreeHouse Retreat will require a car and a sense of adventure to enjoy all the area has to offer.
