Most attractions are within walking distance, the Metro is at the door and direct access to the Lisbon Congress Centre is possible by tram. You will be close to beautiful monuments and churches, old coffee houses, theatres, shops and restaurants and still can enjoy the local atmosphere through the big windows giving to Rua do Carmo. Area Very safe both day and night. We lived in this apartment for some happy years before the family grew up. During all that time we really felt privileged and lucky to be able to live in such a place. This is a unique location in Lisbon for its beauty, as well as its historic and cultural background. We really miss the sun coming in each morning from behind the Castle, strolling up R. Garret or down to Rossio, walking at night to the opera or some restaurant in Bairro Alto as well as staying at home enjoying the view, the blue sky and the fresh and airy feel of the white stone floor and high ceilings. Since we started sharing this place, we have noticed people find different attractions to the apartment, although all adore the location, view, sense of space and light as well as to hang out the windows and enjoy the “living theatre” of Rua do Carmo. To be honest, one main reason why we rent this apartment for short stays is because we like to go back there sometimes.
