The unit is located in the center of the beautiful gated community of Princeville, Kauai and is next to the Makai Golf Course and tennis facility. The Princeville Resort was voted the best resort on Kauai and the 8th best in the world by Conde Nast Traveler magazine and is dramatically situated on a bluffs located between the blue Pacific Ocean and craggy, green, mystical mountains and is indescribably majestic. It offers home sites, condo's, hotels, shopping centers, restaurants, and 45 holes of golf. The world famous beaches of Hanalei Bay and Lumahai, and the spectacular scenery (the movie Jurassic Park was filmed here), are just a short, scenic drive away. Travel and Leisure magazine recently chose Kalalau Valley, located on the North Shore's famous Kalalau Trail, as one of the most beautiful places in America," Princeville is a golfers paradise with the number one course in Hawaii (The Prince Course) and the number five course (The Makai Course). As a guest at The Sandpiper Village you qualify for golf discounts on both the world class 18 hole "Prince Course", ranked Number 1 in Hawaii and Number 43 of "America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses" and the 27 hole "Makai Course", Ranked Number 7 in Hawaii and also in the top 100 by Golf Digest. In addition, as a guest at The Sandpiper, you are offered a golf discount (check here for rates) on all the courses on the North shore including the world class 27-hole Makai Course (ranked 5 in all the Islands) and the 18-hole Prince Course, which ranked number one in Hawaii by Golf Digest. The Prince Golf facility also has a lovely gym and fitness studio which is available to the public at reasonable rates. Condobob's Facts On Kauai Beaches. The very best beaches in all Hawaii are located only 5 minutes from the bluffs of Princeville. They offer excellent snorkeling, scuba diving, wind surfing and kayaking. You can also kayak up the nearby rivers that connect the waterfalls to the ocean. You can also hike the Kalalau Trail on the Napali Coast which is located on the North Shore of Kauai and see the breathtaking views of the mountains, waterfalls and the ocean. The North Shore of Kauai has some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere in the world. Basically Kauai is a natures' paradise. The most beautiful areas are still pristine areas with no houses or hotels and the better beaches are generally not accessible directly from condos, like Lumahai beach where scenes of South Pacific were filmed, or Secret Beach and many others. You must search them out and go to them and one cannot live right next to them close to the beach. Some are a 1/2 mile walk from the roadway and others are a few hundred yards down a slope or through the trees, etc. In my personal opinion, if you want to visit other beaches on other parts of the Island of Kauai, the Marriott Hotel located in Lihue has the best Hotel beach on Kauai at Kalapaki Beach, and it is free and accessible by all visitors. Jan and I go there when we want to be close to things beautiful like the Marriot and yet far away by ourselves on a little section of lovely beach in an Island Paradise. If you want more private beaches you need to go to the ones I have mentioned. As referred to earlier, our very favorite private beach is 5 minutes from Princeville and is located in Hanalei Bay which has 3 miles of white sand coral free beach, and seldom has over 50 people on the entire beach. There are a few mansions around but it is still private to a major degree. The North Shore of Kauai, near Princeville, has more of the best beaches in all Hawaii than on any other Island. It is 8 miles to the end of the road from Princeville and it is a nature's wonderland and a beach lover's paradise. You will find lovely Ke'e Beach at the very end of the road in a park setting where the Kalalau Trail commences. It is great for snorkeling and for little ones as the beach area inside the reefs and coral is wave free and a giant tide pool that is crystal clear. Kauai is not like Waikiki Beach or Kanapali Beach, all great beaches, but they are often filled with thousands of people. Kauai's beaches are more hidden and exclusive and represent an adventure to search out, find, and visit. It can be an all day experience where you pack a lunch and beverages and go with a sun umbrella and lots of sunscreen to be with and enjoy nature in a special, private and secluded way. If you really want to walk a beach located next to a great Hotel, the Marriott Hotel in Lihue is the best on Kauai. Of course, the Princeville Hotel is a must to see and visit along with its more modest beach. It is truly a World Class Hotel in every respect and a great place to dine at evening time on the lanai at Hanalei Caf and watch the sunset turn into night over beautiful Hanalei Bay and the Hanalei mountains. That's about it guests and friends of Condobob. Go now and seek your very own private beaches and find your Island adventures in beautiful Kauai. Local Area Details

Geologically, at six million years old, the 550 square-mile Kauai is Hawaii's oldest major island. It's home to about 50,000 permanent residents. The lushly tropical "Garden Island" includes waterfalls that descend as many as 4,000 feet, tropical jungles, seven climatic zones that range from desert to the wettest spot on Earth, and 40 of the world's finest beaches. Most of Kauai's beaches are wide, with white or black sand, and most are calm enough to swim. Aside from its superb beaches, Kauai is also known for its excellent deep sea fishing, diving, snorkeling, surfing, golfing, tennis, and its incredible photo opportunities. You've seen the remarkably beautiful Kauai in many movies, including "Jurassic Park", "South Pacific", and "King Kong".

The North Shore of Kauai includes several of the island's finest snorkeling and swimming beaches: Ke'e, Tunnels, Lumaha'i, Hanalei, Hideaways, and Secret Beach -- to name just a few. Must-see North Shore Kauai attractions include the Napali Coast (where the Kalalau Trail is accessible to day hikers and overnight campers from Ke'e Beach Park), the Wet and Dry Caves of Haena, Hanalei Valley and Hanalei Bay, Queen's Bath, Kilauea Lighthouse and Natural Wildlife Refuge, Princeville's Makai and Prince Golf Courses, and Kalihiwai Falls. Horseback riding, river or ocean kayaking, sailing, or deep sea fishing charters are great ways to enjoy a sunny day on the North Shore. A native Hawaiian luau (touristy but great fun) is an ideal way to finish one.

A few of Kauai's many other points of special interest include Barking Sands Beach, the 17-mile Polihale Beach (Hawaii's longest beach), Fern Grotto, Opaekaa Falls, Poipu Beach, Spouting Horn's lava tubes, Wailua Falls, Waimea Canyon State Park (the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific"), and the National Tropical Botanical Garden in Lawai. A Kauai "Vacation Planner" is available free from the Kauai Visitor Information Hotline: 800-262-1400 (USA and Canada). Staffed by Kauai residents, the hotline will answer any of your questions about Kauai, from 6AM-6PM Hawaiian Time, Monday-Friday.

Travel & Leisure magazine, a leading travel monthly publication, named Kauai as the 'best island in Hawaii,' from results of the magazine's 8th annual World's Best Awards Reader Survey. Kauai also ranked 5th of ALL islands in the world.
