Aloha. Maui no ka oi! Maui is the best!! And, Sugar Beach Resort is a hideaway on one of Maui's best beaches!! Snorkel, swim, bodysurf, jog or stroll the beach right out front! There's actually a family of turtles that hang out here!! They also know that Sugar Beach is a fun place to stay on Maui!! In the winter months, you can also see whales!! In addition to being convenient to all the sites on Maui, you'll enjoy spectacular sunsets and long walks on this beautiful five mile beach! The pool area was recently enlarged and the old decking was replaced with beautiful flagstone. There are plenty of lounge chairs so there’s no need to fight for one. The pool is heated - perfect for an early morning or late night swim. There is a huge jacuzzi which is a popular gathering place all day long. If you prefer, there is a large grassy area on the outside of the pool area which is perfect for sun lounging or reading a book or watching family members play in the sand and ocean. My condo (#104) is on the ground floor in the Plantation Building. For those of you who have stayed at Sugar Beach in the past, the Plantation Building is on your left as you face the water. The ground floor location is popular because it provides easy access to the beach, pool & jacuzzi without have to wait for elevators or climb stairs. My condo is located in the small wing that goes back from the water. It has a lush garden/pool view but is not a direct oceanfront unit. Because Sugar Beach Resort is a smaller property, you can actually see the water and the sunsets from the private patio - less than 100 steps to the sand!! The inside is designer decorated with aqua green accent walls and mirrors. The sofa and dining room chairs were recently reupholstered in a rich Hawaiian flowered tapestry fabric. Very nice!! The sofa is a comfortable queen sofa sleeper. There is an entertainment center with cable TV, VCR player, and radio/tape & CD player. The bedroom has a king bed with a high quality, super comfy mattress and there are new plantation shutters on the window. There is a large closet with new mirrored doors. The adjoining bathroom has a large shower (no tub) and a mirrored vanity area. In the kitchen, you will find everything you need to make a quick breakfast or cook a fancy dinner or just make margaritas. There’s a full size refrig, stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, blender, toaster and coffeemaker. There are plenty of nice dishes & glasses and pots and pans. The condo has its own washer and dryer. There is central air conditioning that cools every room. Literally everything is provided to ensure a memorable (and romantic) Maui vacation!! The oceanfront BBQ’s are more than just a place to cook steaks!! They are a major gathering place at the end of each day - a fun place to see old friends and meet new people from around the world!!
