Plas Treforgan, a Grade II listed building, reputedly built by John Nash in 1785, today sits in over 16 acres of fields and beautiful gardens (inc. a magnificent walled garden). Our newly renovated self-catering cottages have been designed to provide a warm, comfortable stay for individuals, familes or small groups in peace and traquility. This will be your base to explore an area of outstanding beauty, steeped deep in Celtic history. All rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished with antiques and collectables. Yet all modern facilities are in place - such as showers, Digital TV, central heating, washing machines and kitchen utilities. The 5 star Welsh Tourist Board accredited accommodation at Plas Treforgan comprises of two cottages constructed within the former dairy and stable located on the east wing of the private main house. We have renovated these outbuildings for the new millenium so that holiday-makers can share in the tranquil surroundings of our home, as well as explore a part of Wales that is full of character, history and beauty. You enter the cottages through a cobbled courtyard, which also gives access to the restored walled garden, perfect for a summer evening stroll. The rear of the cottages backs onto the main grounds which houses the pond and wooded area. Formerly a stable, cowshed and shepherd's cottage, The Stables is the larger of the two cottages featuring exposed beams, high ceilings, period furniture and collectables. The cottage is also centrally heated and overlooks both the cobbled courtyard and our open field. - 1 single bedroom and 1 double bedroom both with hand basin. - 1 double bedroom with slate floor, fire place and hand basin. - Large sitting room with log-burning stove.
