About Weather/Climate/Temperature
Visit Amaliapolis in Spring and see the hillsides covered in beautiful wildflowers. Take advantage of the lower temperatures in May or June if you want to sight see as well as swim. The sea is still wonderfully warm in September and October and the day time temperatures not quite so hot as July and August. Even in the winter months the weather is often bright and sunny.
About Transport
This area is pretty quiet so even in high summer the beaches are not crowded except possibly at weekends when local Greeks come to the beach. The beaches of the Pelion peninsula are well worth a trip and there are several nice sandy beaches within a 30 minute drive of Amaliapolis. The spectacular and unspoilt bay of Nies with its long sandy beach is a short drive from Amaliapolis. The panoramic view out over this bay is breakthtaking as you descend the winding road down from the hills. Look out for the herds of goats which graze by the road!
