“This is the most comfortable gîte that we have used in approx. 25 years of travelling through France” an entry in the Visitors’ Book – 20.9.03 This is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. The south-facing apartment is attached to our house, peacefully set in 1 acre gardens with an open, sunny aspect and distant views to the foothills of the Cevennes – a great area for walking. The apartment has been refurbished to high standard. The well-equipped kitchen/breakfast room has a fridge/freezer, microwave, and a cooker with ceramic hob. The large sitting/dining room is very comfortably furnished with a dining table and chairs seating six, a Victorian three-seater Chesterfield sofa and a wing armchair. The bookshelves contain a huge range of reading matter, games and a music-centre with a selection of CDs. There are French windows on to the lavender-filled garden which has natural shade. There is a sofa-bed in an alcove off the living room to allow for flexible sleeping arrangements. The bedroom, which is decorated in cool, fresh blues, has a king-sized double bed and plenty of storage space, both hanging and shelves. The shower room has a washing machine and there is a separate WC. In the attractive garden area are olive trees, lavender and various other herbs. For al fresco eating there is a shady area with table, chairs and a barbeque, and for the siesta there are deckchairs. We are situated approximately two kilometres from the centre of the lively town of Clermont l’Hérault, which has plenty to offer in the way of shops and restaurants.
