Twinlakes is set in 17 acres or rural france, in the heart of the Charente Maritime region, famous for the fine wines, pineau and cognac. Approx 45 mins north of Bordeaux, A10 auto route junction 38 north - or travelling south junction 37 or use the N10 (no toll charges). We have 35 emplacements, with EHU all emplacements are hedged and most shaded, water points throughout the campsite. We also have a large side field for tents and campers not requiring EHU. 2 Fishing lakes (hence the name Twinlakes) a small charge is made for fishing either of the lakes, Fish or take a walk around the bottom lake, we have picnic tables around, watch the rabbits on the island. relax on the grassed areas, as we say sit back relax and enjoy. The top Lake is in the wooded area away from the main campsite, watch the carp topping the waters, ramble though the woods, Take a dip in our swimming pool, sit and read in the bar area looking over the bottom lake. take morning coffee, in the evening join us at the bar, we serve draught Guinness, Stella, Stongbow Cider and John Smiths,local wines etc. Participate in our organised tour of the local vineyard, sample the local Pineau, Red Wine and Cognac. Meals are served most nights, during high season, we have the weekly pig roast. I am sure we are the place for you just to sit back relax and enjoy, theres one good thing with Twinlakes, for all you fishing guys out there, we have plenty for the wife to do and see in the area, just enough time to let you wet the net, with a drink on tap.... Hot showers and toilet block with electrical sockets for hairdryers, pot washing area, and sinks for laundry.
