If you just want a relaxing coffee or a glass of wine then the place to go is the Bar Du Port, just a few doors away. Sit on the quayside and soak up the atmosphere. The owner, Stephane, speaks perfect English and needs little excuse to pull a saxaphone from behind the bar to entertain his customers, and throughout the summer has some wonderful musicians playing there.

About Beaches

The clean sandy beach is only five minutes walk away with plenty of space for everyone. If you you want a coffee or a snack the restaurant La Potiniere, with it`s lovely sun terrace, is right on the sand. Each year Carteret is granted the "European Blue Flag" for the quality of its beaches and its sailing harbour.

About Local Restaurants

You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants in Carteret. Only a few doors down is the world famous La Marine, standing on the edge of the sea with stunning views over the estuary. Just two minutes walk away is Le Cap, their slogan is "Fishing Boat To Your Plate, It Has Only One Step Here". Again this restaurant has panoramic views over the estuary.
