36 Glan Gors is a comfortable and quiet non smoking holiday home on a well spaced estate in the historic town of Harlech in the Snowdonia National Park. The property is ideal for families, couples and friends but as it is an apartment with upstairs neighbours it is not ideal for lively night owls.The ground floor property sleeps up to five people. We are sorry, but due to previous bad experiences we do not take bookings from young single sex groups who do not wish to maintain the quiet environment and respect the property and neighbours. This is definitely not a suitable venue for hen or stag parties. As well as being a holiday let, it is our own holiday home which we use frequently and so we have tried to ensure that it has the same level of comforts as we have at home. It is ideal for those who wish to holiday in a quiet area. As it is a ground floor property there is easy access inside for those who are less mobile & find stairs difficult. It has 3 comfortable bedrooms, a lounge/dining room, kitchen and shower room. There is a double bed, king size bed and single bed. Heating is by storage heaters and also by free standing electric heaters. The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge and washing machine. There is more than enough crockery & cutlery for 5 people. The shower produces plenty of hot water on demand with more than adequate water pressure. Bedding,towels (except beach towels)& electricity are included in the cost of rental. If you wish to bring your own bedding & towels we wll deduct 10% from the price. TV programmes are delivered by Freeview as well as Freesat. There is an integral DVD in the TV and the free sat is also a recorder. There is a small selection of dvds, books, cards, & various board games. The estate is well spaced, with communal lawns between the properties. You are welcome to sit out anywhere in these lawns, on the fixed benches or on folding chairs/recliners which are provided in the flat. From the property there are views of the hills above Harlech as well of Harlech itself, most noticeably the castle which has helped to make Harlech a World Heritage Site.

Local Area Details

The well spaced estate in lower Harlech is about 5 minutes walk from Harlech railway station on the Cambrian coast line and the Barmouth to Maentwrog bus stops at the entrance to the estate The property is within walking distance of Harlech beach there is also a large car park at the beach which is wide sandy and very safe ideal for children There are several other safe sandy beaches in the area. Royal St Davids golf club is about a 5 minute walk away & vistors who have the required handicap may play there. The area is excellent for walkers, both for gentle strolling for more serious mountain climbing either in the heart of Snowdonia or on the Rhinogydd a few miles behind Harlech. Maps suitable for walkers are available in the flat Within a short walking distance is a pub/restaurant and a convenience store Harlech main street and immediate area in upper Harlech has a selection of shops restaurants cafes & pubs. Although designated as a town Harlech is village sized compact and has an olde worlde main street. Supermarkets and more shops eating places are to be found in Barmouth and Porthmadog about 8 miles South & North of Harlech respectively. Harlech is about 7 miles from the well known Portmeirion village and there are many other tourist attractions in the area. We are happy to take an adult house trained dog if the owners are prepared to bring the animal's own bedding & not allow it onto furniture or beds. Families & couples are welcome but we do not accept bookings from young single sex groups.
