If you fancy a romantic break for two in the Correze, you’re planning a tour around France, a house-hunting trip, or just want to get away from it all – we have just the place for you. Set in a tiny hamlet of less than ten houses, high in the hills and surrounded by forest, you’ll find The Old Granary. About 6km from Chamberet and 14km from the beautiful lake at Treignac, this newly renovated, lovely old stone barn is situated in a private area behind our home. The Old Granary is ideal for a couple (with perhaps one child), is completely self-contained and has an open plan design. The double bedroom, which is furnished in pine, is on an open mezzanine to the rear and this overlooks the lounge, in which you’ll find a settee (which opens out to an additional bed for one, if required), a dining table and kitchenette. A DVD player and CD player are provided with a selection of DVDs for your use. There are also some books and board games. TV is French. A small cloakroom at the rear leads into a shower room fitted with shower, wc, hand basin and cupboard. Kitchen facilities include a sink, fridge, two gas rings, a mini oven, coffee machine, glassware, crockery and utensils. The stone terrace, which is not overlooked, has patio furniture and a barbecue for your use during the summer months. You would also be welcome to make use of our private splash pool during the summer months, but please be aware that this would be at your own risk as the pool is unsupervised. The pool is of the inflatable variety; size: 1m deep, 4.5m diameter. It is normally set up from about the end of May and is used only by guests of The Old Granary and by ourselves when our guests are out and about. Another table and chairs and sun loungers are set up near the pool and there is a garden behind The Old Granary for guests use.
