About Transport

Bus stops directly outside apartment. Bus to Boavista and Casa da Musica metro station - takes about 5-10 minutes. Bus to sea 2-3 minutes (but it's a nice walk down through the old village of Foz. ) - helpful on the way back though...Bus to old centre 15 minutes - goes along Douro river. Bus to North Shopping (large shopping centre) 15 minutes and runs until 2 a.m.

Airport 15 minutes by Taxi, costs approx 20-25 euros.

About Parks

Pirate ship play place down on the beach with climbing frames is great fun. In apartment there are toys, a cot, a high chair, beach buckets and spades etc. Serralves park is 5 minutes walk with plenty of things for kids to do. Also in apartment are directions for finding other fun places for kids. Tram museum with tram rides 10 minutes by bus. Surfing in Matosinhos.

About Walking

Walk from the apartment to the sea, through the small streets of old Foz then along the Douro river enjoying breathtaking views all the way to the Ribeira. Porto is a simply stunning place. The apartment is also a good base for exploring the Douro valley and the North of Portugal. Viana da Castelo, Ponte de Lima, Ponte de Barca, Coimbra, Conimbriga, Aveiro are all within easy driving distance.
