Oceanfront (tidal) house in Deer Isle, Maine. This is a beautiful house, and it is very well equipped. The house located on Dunham Point Road, adjacent to the Deer Isle Yacht Club. This is a very desirable street that winds along the ocean. There is a lot to do on Deer Isle, but with this as your base you rarely will need to leave your neighborhood. Even better, this is a newer house with new appliances purchased in 2001. The home includes a spacious and well-equipped kitchen, an extra-large master bedroom, excellent beds (king and queen mattresses new in 2001), a large color TV, a VCR, Jotul woodstove, fax machine, central heat, and nice linens. All of the beds have down comforters, the sheets are Ralph Lauren or a similar brand, the towels were purchased new in 2001, and many updates to the house were completed in 2001. We also added a screened gazebo by the shore in 2003. We fixed the house up for us to enjoy-- it's not your ordinary rental! The house is well decorated. The kitchen is furnished with nice china, knives that you can really use to cook with, a new gas oven/stove, a bread machine, a blender, a toaster oven, and nice pots and pans (some Caphalon!). We love to cook and eat, so the kitchen is set up to enjoy! Do you love seafood? If so, this is your place. Just go right out your back door and off your beach and collect as many clams and mussels as you can eat (within the state limits of course!). Do you want lobster or crab? If so, one of our neighbors is a lobsterman, and he will drop live lobsters off by your house on his way home (at a reduced rate!). Another neighbor picks crab meat three times a week at very reasonable prices. You can either catch your own fish or buy them from many local venders. This is a seafood lover's paradise. Your oceanfront house is located on three-acre lot with woods, a large grassy yard, over 325 feet of tidal frontage, and lots of space for kids to play. We have outdoor toys for the kids, there are several great places for the adults to escape down by the shore on the cove and read a book. We especially love to have evening cocktails or wine by the grassy area by our shoreline where we watch the sunset and the tide come in or go out. In 2003 we added a screened gazebo by the shore! The house is a three-minute walk from Sylvester Cove and the Deer Isle Yacht Club. This is one of the most scenic deep-water coves on the island with great views of the Eagle Island lighthouse directly to the west. Since this side of the island faces west, the sunsets are incredible! Dunham Point Road (our street) is a local favorite place to take extended walks along the shore without much traffic. There is also a great beach for swimming right on Sylvester's Cove (again less than 3 minutes from your house!). We even have two mountain bikes in the garage for you to use as you explore the Island (please bring your own helmets). This is truly an exceptional vacation home.
