If however, the thought of dappled shade, your favourite book and a glass of rose, is your idea of holiday bliss - then you will probably love this peaceful corner on the edge of the Haut Languedoc. This is the hidden Mediterranean – the narrow Jaur valley, before the Massif Central rises up behind us. Ruggedly beautiful but not completely isolated. You can sit on the terrace and watch birds of prey wheel above you, wander up the mountain to get a view out over the surrounding countryside of cherry orchards, vineyards and garrigue or just sit in the sun and do nothing. For the more energetic there is fantastic canoeing on the Orb, mountain biking, horse-riding or walks above the forest floor. You could take a curative spa at Lamalou les Bains or even play a round of golf. Really flexible accommodation. We can collect from airport if needed. We can also supply a welcome meal and groceries on arrival. Main entrance to kitchen with living room off. Comfortable living room with wood burning stove for out of season lets. (We can provide wood if you need it.) Living room has beds so can be used as additional sleeping accommodation if required. Back hall with door to outside terraces, shower room and stairs to spacious bedroom with double bed and single bed. Outside staircase leads to two converted stone 'secadous' (chestnut drying rooms) made into additional single bedrooms. (Ideal for teenagers). Outside there is a pretty garden with lawns (if not scorched by the sun), trees to climb, fruit and flowers. There are numerous secluded terraces in both sun and shade. The swimming pool provides a welcome place to cool down. Under the house is a cool, light and airy games room with dvd's and PS2. The house is full of books and children's toys.
