Pamporovo is situated at 1650m above sea level and at the foot of the Snejanka peak (1926m). It is the sunniest Bulgarian mountain resort and is accessible either from Sofia or Plovdiv. Plovdiv is a one hour transfer, Sofia three hours. The skiing season starts from mid December to mid April. The gentle profile of the mountain with its rounded slopes and summits makes Pamporovo particularly suitable for beginners. But there are also some difficult ski runs like the Giant Slalom run which is an excellent test for even experienced skiers.
