Weekly rental between 250-450Euros ( 200-400 GBP ). Plus 50Euros for heating in winter. Villard de Lans is a family resort at the heart of the Vercors natural park and is popular all the year round. The ski station of Villard de Lans/Correncon has 125km of pistes, culminating at a peak of 2100 metres, and is generally open from mid-December to mid-April, snow permitting. There is also a sledge park, snow racket trails and more than 130km of cross country ski pistes. The village of a little over 4000 inhabitants boasts a swimming pool with slides and waves, sauna, ice rink, casino, bowling alley, tree top obstacle course and a market for local produce and handicraft on sundays and wednesdays. Situated on a mountain plateau at 1000m altitude, with peaks to the east and west, the Vercors region is rich in natural wonders and history. A former health resort due to the good quality of the air, Villard has escaped large scale development, and remains largely unknown outside of France. Perhaps because of this, Villard has retained the feel of a genuine village, rather than being the dormitory attached to a ski station. Coming without a car ? Quite possible … by air to Lyon, Grenoble or Geneva airports. Buses to Grenoble station in 1hour, 45 minutes and 2.5hours respectively . Regular bus line to Villard de Lans in less than 1 hour ( 25 km ). The apartment is 5 minutes by foot ( or short taxi-trip ) from the town centre destination of these buses. Once there all town facilities within easy reach by foot. In season, a free bus to the ski pistes ( down-hill and cross country ) stops just outside the building.
