THIS PICTURESQUE MEDIEVAL VILLAGE IS SITUATED IN THE HEART OF THE MINERVOIS OLIVE AND WINE PRODUCING AREAS OF LANGUEDOC ROUSSILLON. Situated in the centre of the village, the house offers comfortable accomodation for 2, 3 or possibly 4 people. Although originally built during medieval times the house has been comfortably modernised throughout. It is a terraced house with thick stone walls which keep it relatively cool in the summer and warm in the winter. On entry, the ground floor is open plan, with integrated kitchen, dining and sitting room. It has a three piece suite, dining table and seating for up to six, ceramic hob, microwave, oven, washing machine and fridge-freezer. There is also a CD and tape player in the sitting area plus books and games. The first floor has two bedrooms, one double, the other single. Bedlinen and towels can be provided for a supplement of £30(which includes laundry). There is also a shower room and separate toilet on this floor. The second floor has an airy sitting room with Sky TV. This room can also be utilised as a bedroom as it has a comfortable double bed-settee. There are large windows and a glass door leading out onto a sunny roof-terrace which is equipped with table, chairs, parasol and BBQ, making it an ideal place to sunbathe, relax in the shade for breakfast or lunch, or sit with a glass of wine or two on warm summer evenings. Rue de L'église is a quiet, narrow street in the centre of Bize. Free parking is available only yards away in the square near the church. Next to the church is the village boulangerie which bakes excellent bread and cakes daily on the premises. Only yards past the house in the other direction is a sweet shop. Slightly further on is a butchers, restaurant, greengrocers, general store, cafe/bar/restaurant and river swimming. There are also two more restaurants on the other side of the river. Other facilities in the village include a wine cellar(also with a restaurant) where you can taste a variety of wines from local producers, a pharmacy, post office, hairdressers, newsagent, dentist and even a small cinema. There is also a small market on Wednesday mornings. The river is clear and safe for swimming. It is checked on a regular basis by the local authorities for cleanliness and in the summer is surveyed by a lifeguard. In our opinion the village is the perfect location, as it provides both a central base for exploration of the Minervois and Languedoc areas while also being a quiet, pretty village with all the amenities needed for a relaxing holiday.
