Alternatively, one can choose from a variety of coffee shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The very private terrace at the back of Lila’s Cottage is sheltered by an old black ash tree, home to a family of weavers and an Ibis couple with nest. Just beyond the stone terrace and the undeveloped area which it overlooks, is the Wetlands home of innumerable bird species - a resource for which Wakkerstroom is rightly famous. We invite you to come and enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay at a very out-of-the ordinary cottage. The one bedroom cottage is self-catering. The open plan design offers sitting, dining and kitchen areas, leading onto a patio with magnificent trees, local birds and spectacular views. The main bedroom, with its en-suite facilities, is partitioned so as to provide privacy and at the same time, good ventilation. Also in the sitting room is a double sofa-bed which can be used, if so required. All linen, electric blankets, hairdryer, towels, soap etc. are supplied. The cottage remains cozy in all weather as a result of the wood burning 'Morso Stove' in the sitting room, supplemented with electric wall mounted radiators. Vehicles can be parked securely either at the front or better still, in the secure back garden area. If desired, an on-site lockup garage is provided on request. No TV or telephone. Housekeeping services for washing, ironing and cleaning are available if required for a small additional fee. The fully equipped kitchen comes with all china, cutlery and appliances required for self-catering. A BBQ is available on request.
