We hope the information below will help you to chose our villa in the beautiful Languedoc region of southern France. The House stands high over the outskirts of the village, with a view westwards to the Corbières hills. A short walk in the other direction leads to the centre of the village and the salt-water lagoons of the nature reserve. It sleeps six and has a private pool. Peyriac de Mer is a popular destination for walkers, photographers and artists alike, for its beautiful scenery, its special quality of light and its bird-life. Boardwalks lead across the old saltpans beside the village and there are walking and biking trails through the pinewoods and around the lagoons where flamingos and migrating birds can be seen. Accommodation A sloping driveway leads up to the main entrance on the first floor. On this level is one double bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower and toilet. There is a modern kitchen with fridge, dishwasher, vitro-ceramic hob and oven; a large dining area and open-plan living room, which leads onto a spacious terrace with table and chairs and a view over the hills. A twin bedroom with en suite shower and toilet is joined to the eastern end of the house and has its own separate entrance. There is another entrance to the house on the ground floor, which can also be reached by a stairway down from the first floor. Here there is a double bedroom, a shower room and a separate bathroom with washbasin, toilet and washing machine. Pool & Garden Outside there is a large pool area with a barbecue, a shady dining area with patio furniture and sun-beds. The pool is 8m x 4m x 1.5m and has an automatic pool-sweep. Behind the house on quite a steep hill is a pinewood, where you can often see red squirrels. From the top you can see the Pyrenees Mountains! N.B. We regret we don’t think it is suitable for children under six, and we don’t take pets. Local Amenities The village has a grocery, bakery, butcher, chemist, bar/café and three restaurants. There are also tennis courts, a doctor’s surgery, a physiotherapist and a nurse. A hypermarket is a ten-minute drive away and it is 12 kilometres to the centre of the town of Narbonne.
