There are very few self catering properties advertised here that are ACTUALLY in the city. Most are in the outlying villages and 'new towns' (Villanuevas, which means, as well as a car being a must, much of the character of "the real Spain" is absent, not to mention the choice of sights, sounds, shopping and entertainment. About Weather/Climate/Temperature

There is a wide variety of local bars, from the typical Andalucian 'men only and spitoon' types to very sophisticated watering holes. Many bars have attached restaurants or at least serve tasta tapas.

Mostly, (unless you inadvertantly wander into 4 star golf hotel establishments), they are very reasonably priced with great well cooked simple food based maninly around fish, chicken, lamb and pork.

About Bars

There are a number of night and dance clubs and discos, as well as a theatre, multiplex cinema and various large imposing churches used for classical concerts in Antequera a short walk away.

About Nightlife

There is a local 'hopper' bus where you can get to most places around town, including shops, hospital and markets, for a euro. The main bus station is across town with bus travel available to most major cities such as Malaga, Cordoba and Seville. There is a rail station 5 minutes away, with similar facilities. In addition at Santa Ana on the outskirts of Antequera, there is the main AVE high speed train station. Madrid is just a couple of hours away on this fast service.

Antequera Golf is well renowned and just a 5 minute drive from the accommodation. It has a 5 star club house which serves full meals and the golfing is also quite interesting.

About Airport Information

Malaga International airport is the nearest Airport around 25 miles away via fast dual carriageway. It is currently undergoing complete refurbishment. In addition there is Granada airport, which can be reached in around 1 hour.

About Family Activities

There is a wolf park a few minutes away, where the last remaining wild wolves can be seen in their natural habitat. El Torcal national park is again very close and consists of many square miles of interesting Antidiluvean rock formations. There are walks around the park and they are signed according to length and difficulty.

About Local Restaurants

El Mirador virtually 'overlooks' the property from the hill above and is just a couple of minutes by car. It is a family friendly well run establishment with great food and drinks at reasonable prices. As well as two dining areas (1 non-smoking), there are two terraces, one with fantastic vistas across the city, and food and drinks are served to both.
