The Hague and Wassenaar, you can see the following places of interest:

Maduradam - www.madurodam.nl (click the English flag)
For more than 55 years Madurodam has been the smallest city in the Netherlands. Canals, gabled houses and all kinds of other typical Dutch scenes: the miniature city offers you the highlights of the Netherlands on a scale 1:25.

Scheveningen Beach - www2.holland.com/denhaag/gb/discover/coast/scheveningen/
How about taking a walk along the beach? Scheveningen is the perfect place to go! The harbour is buzzing with activity, while screeching seagulls hover around the fishing boats coming in. What about buying some fish from one of the stalls, or going for dinner in one of the restaurants around the harbour? For information from the local tourist office call: 0900 3403505 [EUR 0,45 pm]

Meijendel - www.kustgids.nl/meijendel-en/index.html
The Meijendel Dunes are among the most important coastal areas of the Netherlands, with a primarily open dune landscape with brushwood. The larger dune valleys also support woodlands, e.g. the valleys of Meijendel, Bierlap and Kijfhoek. More than a million people visit the area each year. Vincent van Gogh has lived here in 1882-'83. The most important functions of the area are: nature protection, collection of drinking water, coastal defence and recreation. A must the pancake restaurant and farm in Meijendel – great playground in the dunes for the kids.

Duinrell – www.duinrell.nl - click the English flag
15 minutes away an amazing amusement park. Lots of indoor and outdoor playgrounds and attractions. Also a tropical indoor swimming pool with lots of slides.

Wassenaar Beach –
This is a quieter beach than Scheveningen. There are 4 restaurants with playgrounds (April – September). The rest of the year it is pure beach, seagulls, dunes and nature. It is about 13 km by car.

Park Clingendaal –
This is a magnificent park. Many types of gardens including a Japanese garden. A great playground for kids in the middle and and large area where dogs can be off the leash. In the summer the restaurant near the playground is open.

Park de Horsten –
This park is also close buy. A quaint restaurant for lunch or tea. Nice walk up the Seringenberg. Dogs not allowed.

Kijkduin – www2.holland.com/denhaag/gb/discover/coast/kijkduin/index.jsp
The wonderful, quiet seaside resort Kijkduin is well worth visiting! A romantic walk on the beach, followed by a nice meal in one of the small restaurants on the boulevard. Or, if you feel like doing something a bit more active, a bracing walk or cycle tour in the dunes. Kijkduin is well worth a visit – or two, or three…
